So after a few slightly stressful and breaking bad taking over days, we’re finally back ( we hope you haven’t missed us too much ). And we’ve decided, us atMAM like how this blogs shaping up.. however we wanted to make a change. We realise now that until this point we’ve only been preaching the artists that are already getting preached. So we want to start representing the kick ass artists that haven’t got the appreciation they deserve yet.
So to start this slightly new ball going, we’re kicking things off with Saint Raymond (Callum Burrows)
Those who haven’t heard this singer/song writer yet are in for a pleasant surprise. We first originally checked him out when we heard he was performing at Nottinghams Dot 2 Dot fest last summer, but unfortunately due to a clash we missed him.. We certainly got our karma though. Back in august, we saw him perform at Derbys small festival YNOT? on the quarry stage (where the likes of Young Kato and The 1975 also played) and he was amazing. Strong voice, catchy yet not trashy lyrics. This lad is creating a top indie acoustic vibe and we’re loving it. Coming from Nottingham he’s quickly following London Grammar and Dog is Dead in their very talented footsteps.
On to the music : One song we’re loving at the moment would be Fall at your feet. This is a weird choice for us as it seems that this isn’t his most popular or played song. But there is just something about the tone and lyrics which we’re urging people to listen too. His voice is stripped back, fresh, emotional and with lyrics such as ” watch me fall at your feet, give it all to make you feel complete” there enough to get any teen age girls heart flutter (TOP LAD) Thats not all though, his 4 track EP - Escapade is jam packed with catchy and heartfelt songs, proving that he’s not a one trick pony. We suggest you check it out and whilst you’re there give Bonfires a listen- you’re welcome.
Seems he’s ticking all the right boxes, Watch this space.
